The temporary foster homes and 'overnight' volunteers: A critical segment of the rescue community, these people open their homes and hearts to the animals who have to leave their current home or shelter immediately in order to get out alive. Temporary fosters work with the receiving rescues and transport coordinators to get the animals ready to travel. They may house an animal for a day or two or up to two weeks, as they prefer. Over night fosters provide just that, an overnight stay on transport runs that require more than one day on the road.
